Bombay High Court dismisses writ against Justice Dalvi; Says no prosecution for acts performed in course of judicial duties

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday dismissed a criminal writ petition against sitting judge Justice Dalvi, filed by an advocate, Nilesh Ojha. The petition was filed in response to the initiation of contempt proceedings against Jha and his client Sanjay Punamiya.

In the first week of May this year while arguing before Justice Dalvi,  Ojha had stated in open court that he was allegedly promised a favourable order if he coughed up Rs. 25 lakh to the husband of the judge. This resulted in Justice Dalvi initiating . . .
