The Bombay High Court recently found film producer Gaurang Doshi guilty of contempt of court and sentenced him to six months' imprisonment.

The Court, vide an earlier order, had directed Doshi to deposit an amount of Rs. 1.25 crore. Having failed to do so, the Court found that he wilfully breached the order, leading to the contempt proceedings. The Single Judge Bench of Justice SJ Kathawalla has now sentenced Doshi to six months imprisonment as a result of the contempt.
