Big IP firms merger: Singh & Singh, Lall & Sethi merge to form IP Power house, “Singh & Singh Lall & Sethi”

Boutique IP firm Lall & Sethi is merging with IP firm Singh & Singh. With this merger, the new firm “Singh & Singh Lall & Sethi” will have nine partners and twenty-seven lawyers. The merger would be effective April 1, 2015..Pratibha Singh had set up Singh & Singh along with her husband Maninder Singh in 1997. Both Maninder and Pratibha are designated Senior Advocates, while Maninder Singh was appointed as an Additional Solicitor General last year..Set up more than 20 years back as a proprietorship firm by Chander Lall, Lall & Sethi moved to a partnership model in 2013. That year saw the promotion of three of its Senior Associates Raghav Malik, Jyotideep Kaur and Tia Malik to equity partnership. The fifth partner is Dr. Anju Khanna..Talking about the merger, Chander Lall said, “We felt that we have the perfect synergy. Each of us has its own strengths and weaknesses. We can now cover all areas of intellectual property with a litigation experience, which is unmatched.”.Singh & Singh also has a strong telecom practice area, which will be an added practice area in the new firm..The four partners from Singh & Singh, who will be part of the new firm, include Sudeep Chatterjee, Bitika Sharma, Tejveer Singh Bhatia and Saya Choudhary..The newly merged firm has engaged Legal League Consulting for integration of systems, processes accounts and other aspects. The integration is expected to be completed by June.
