The Supreme Court today declined to quash the proceedings against one of the accused persons, Anand Teltumbde, in a case relating to the Bhima Koregaon violence last year..Anand Teltumbde had approached the Supreme Court against the decision of the Bombay High Court dismissing his plea to quash the proceedings against him..The Bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi along with Justices Ashok Bhushan and Sanjay Kishan Kaul today granted protection to Teltumbde for four weeks..While rejecting the plea to quash proceedings, CJI Gogoi said,.“The investigation is going on and it is getting bigger and bigger. At this stage, quashing of the proceedings is absolutely uncalled for.“.Teltumbde may try and obtain bail during the period of four weeks, for which he has been granted protection from the Supreme Court..Last week, the Court had reserved its verdict in the appeal filed by the State of Maharashtra in the Bhima Koregaon case..There were two appeals listed before the Court.
