Lawyers today assembled outside Court Hall 1 of the Karnataka HC, where Justice Dinakaran was presiding, and called out slogans against him. The protests were carried over to the other court halls, but Justices V. Gopalagowda [pictured right] and A.V. Nagrathna [pictured left] refused to stop hearing matters. Consequently, they were locked into the court hall, and had to be rescued by the Commissioner of Police. Sources say that Justice Gopalagowda was assaulted in the resulting melee. K.N. Puttegowda, the President of the Advocates Association, however, denies the involvement of the Association’s members in the violence.
