Legal Solutions has been operating as a primarily dispute resolution-based firm since 2002..The offshoot, Ayana Legal, will deal with the firm’s Corporate Advisory, Commercial Transactions, Banking law, IPR, Start-up Advisory and Media & Entertainment Law practice..Speaking to Bar & Bench about the rationale behind setting up Ayana Legal, Rama Iyer said,.“Legal Solutions is a traditional firm and hence we never had an online presence, participated in Law Firm Rankings or even reported our deals to highlight our achievements. There have been instances where law firms from outside India have tried to contact me for some work that they wanted us to do..Once, a law firm from Australia wanted to engage our services, but they couldn’t find us on the internet. They mentioned that online presence was one criteria they were looking for. So, though we started work, we lost that account..I felt that it was necessary to move on with the times and incorporate a few of the global best practices and procedures, of course, within the permissible rules laid by the Bar Council and Indian Laws, if we wanted to call ourselves a modern law firm with a modern outlook. Thus, Ayana Legal was conceptualized.”.Things are moving fast, with the firm setting up offices in Delhi and Bombay. There are plans of further expansion in the near future..Rama says,.“We do have offices in Delhi and Bombay; I am in the process of formalizing certain things in other places as well.
