Nilachakra Organisation and Jagannath Sena, both activist groups, joined several prominent religious leaders in protesting a scene in the movie which shows a toilet door with the sentence “Apna Haath Jagannath” written on it. The activist groups alleged the film had hurt the sentiments of the people of Orissa. An FIR has been filed against the producer, UTV Movies and the Director, Vishal Bharadwaj under Section 295A (hurting religious sentiments) of the Indian Penal Code. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles..Baabarr – Maya and Mulayam.A PIL has been filed by a Mumbai businessman in the Bombay High Court, Amar Hussein Mukeri, seeking a ban on the recently released film Baabarr. The reason he has alleged is that “certain characters and incidents are clearly identifiable with real life personalities like Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati”, and screening of the film may lead to “public disharmony”. The Petitioner has also contended that the movie depicts Muslims as “violent and antisocial”. The PIL will come up for hearing on September 17..Unnai Pol Oruvan – Cash and Burn .The Madras High Court has restrained Kamal Hassan’s home production, Unnai Pol Oruvan from releasing this Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie. This movie is supposed to be a remake of the Hindi movie, Wednesday. Justice G Rajasuriya ordered a stay on the movie which was supposed to be released on September 18. Pyramid Saimira has alleged that Kamal Hassan had failed to perform his contractual obligations even after having received over Rs 10 crore for a joint-venture film for which he had agreed to rope in actors like Amitabh Bachan and Priyanka Chopra. Pyramid Saimira is represented by advocate A. Chidambaram.
