The Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution at the Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat, is organising a series of webinars with Professor Marike Paulsson in Sept & Oct, 2021.

About the Speaker

Prof. Marike Paulsson is the Vice President of USP's Global Legal Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution and currently serves as a Senior Advisor with Albright Stonebridge Group, a commercial diplomacy firm led by Secretary Madeleine Albright and Secretary Carlos Gutierrez.

She has over 20 years experience in public international law, international arbitration, cross-border litigation and human rights.

She has taught international law in the US, Europe, India and Latin America and is extensively published. She is the author of the seminal treatise - The 1958 New York Convention in Action', co-authored ICCA's Guide to the Interpretation of the 1958 New York Convention, the India Resolutions on the Proper Application of the NYC, and holds a PhD on the enforcement of annulled awards with Leiden University. With Professor Martin Hunter and others, she is one of the editors of the new Handbook on Arbitration in India (Kluwer, 2021).

She is also the founder of Young ICCA - a global diversity effort - and the New York Convention Roadshows - a series of judicial dialogues on treaty compliance - under the auspices of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration. She is a member of the Court of the Mauritius International Arbitration Centre and is a jury member of the UN Women Princess Sabeeqa bint Ibrahim al Khalifa Global Women Empowerment Award.

She is former counsel at Hanotiau & van den Berg (Brussels, Belgium) where she worked with Albert Jan van den Berg on expert opinions and other counsel work regarding the enforcement of awards. She gives expert testimony on issues of jurisdiction and the NYC She has previously taught at Miami Law since 2009 and was the director of UM’s International Arbitration Institute.
