Mooting is a platform that provides each participant an opportunity to test their understanding of law by applying it to a particular legal problem, which in turn provides a hands-on experience of both, the theoretical and practical aspects of the vast subject that is law.
This is the same belief that Army Institute of Law, with its motto of “Aspire and Achieve”, has spread throughout its mooting ventures as an organizer.
To advance this ideology, Army Institute of Law teamed up with Surana & Surana International Attorneys to conduct the Surana & Surana Family Law Moot annually, the first edition of which was organised in 2019.
This year the proposition, drafted by AIL Professor of Family Law, Mrs. Jasleen Chahal, was based on multiple facets of personal laws, marriage laws and custody of a child.
Commencement of Rounds
The Moot was inaugurated on Thursday, 8th April, 2021 by Preetam Surana, Academic Head, Surana and Surana International Attorneys, Chennai and professor Jasleen on behalf of the entire Moot Court Society, AIL. The Octa-finals and Quarter-finals took place on 9th April. The Semi-finals and Finals took place on 10th April.
