Maharashtra National Law University Aurangabad (MNLU-A), is an institution established in the year 2017, with an objective of imparting quality legal education. It has epitomized the brilliance of academic excellence and combined it well with the dynamism engraved in it's pupils.

THEME

Constitutional Law.

SUB THEMES

a. Censorship of OTT Platforms and the Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression.

b. Caste Based Census and the Right to Equality.

c. Permanent Commission of Women in Indian Army – Issues of Equality and Discrimination.

The participants can formulate their own topic based on the above theme and sub-themes.

ELIGIBILITY

Students pursuing graduation or post graduation from any UGC recognised University across India.

i) The participants must submit a proof of affiliation to their university or college.

ii) The proof of affiliation may include, identity card, letter of affiliation, or recommendation letter.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The participants have to make their submissions at the Google Form ONLY. The participants must abide by the following failure of which lead to disqualification.

i) The submissions must be original and must not be previously published in any publication, website, blog or other forms of publication.

ii) The word limit for the article is 2500-3000 words.

iii) A Maximum 12% of plagiarism is allowed. The same will be determined by the Organization Committee. Failure to abide by the same will result in disqualification.

iv) Submission of the Article must be made in both PDF(.pdf) and MS Word(.doc/.docx) formats.

v) Each Article must have a heading on the basis of the theme of the competition.

vi) The body of the Article must be in the following format:

• Times New Roman

• Size - 12

• Line Spacing -1.5

• Alignment – Justified

vii) The submission must contain footnotes in the following format

• Font – Times New Roman

• Size – 10

• Line Spacing 1.0

• Alignment – Justified

viii) The participants must follow a uniform citation style throughout the document to be submitted. Bluebook 20th Edition should preferably be followed.

ix) The article submitted must not contain the name of the participant or any other text or image revealing the identity of the participant or their college or university.

x) The name of the PDF and MS Word file submitted should be the participant id allotted after the registration is complete. Ex.-A participant with the participant id ‘A99’ must name both his files ‘A99’ and not anything else.

Marking Scheme

The submissions by the participants shall be marked on the following grounds:

1. Knowledge of facts and law - 20

2. Extent and Use of Research - 20

3. Proper and Articulate Analysis - 20

4. Clarity and Organization - 20

5. Correct format and citation - 10

6. Grammar and Style - 10

GRAND TOTAL - 100

The relevant dates for the Competition are as follows:-

Last date of Registration- 30th September 2021

Last date of Submission- 15th October 2021

The prizes for the competition are as follows:-

1st Prize- Rs 3,000

2nd Prize- Rs 2,000

3rd Prize- Rs 1,000

The best 5 article submissions shall be published on the website of the Literary and Debating Society of Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad. The best 10 article submissions shall be provided with a certificate of merit each.
