RecTracker: NUJS Class of ’14 sees total of 72 students placed out of 79 who sat for recruitment

The graduating class of 2014 at WBNUJS, Kolkata has seen nearly close to cent percent placements after seventy-two students were placed out of the seventy-nine who sat for campus recruitments..The total batch strength of the Class of ’14 is one hundred and fifteen..In the domestic legal market, Amarchand Mangaldas hired eight students, while Luthra & Luthra recruited six students. The third biggest recruiters, with five students each were Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Khaitan & Co, and Pangea 3.When it comes to international law firms, Allen & Overy recruited two students and Herbert Smith hired one student..Speaking to Bar & Bench, Shourya Sengupta said that after a good day zero last year, the placements for the Class of ’14 did lose some amount of pace. To some extent this was countered by the CRC reaching out to as diverse range of organisations as possible. A similar number of students have opted for higher studies..The Campus Recruitment Committee for the batch was headed by Shourya Sengupta, Midhun Joseph Zacharia and Gayathri Ramachandran. The committee also comprised Raveena Dhamija, Dipayan Bhattacharjee, Gaurav Malhotra, Ashish Alexandar and Akanksha Choudhary.
