RecTracker: NLU Odisha 2020 graduating batch secures 29 job offers

The 2020 graduating batch of National Law University Odisha, Cuttack (NLUO) has secured a total of 29 job offers.

Out of 44 students who sat for placements, 29 of them have secured offers from Indian law firms and other organisations. A total of 9 recruiters participated in the campus recruitment programme and hired 20 students. Other students received offers following internships with organizations.

24 students were offered jobs at Indian law firms. The top hirers were Singh & Associates with 5 hires, followed by Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan with 3, and Fox Mandal and MNSA Legal with 2 hires each. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co., Jyoti Sagar Associates and L&L Partners made 1 hire each.

Besides these, two students from the batch of 2016-21, currently in their fourth year, have already been offered PPOs with Trilegal and Indus Law.

Highlighting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on recruitments, the NLUO Recruitment Co-ordination Committee (RCC) stated in a press release,

"Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the recruitment process has suffered a halt and certainly proved to be a setback in the steady upward progress of recruitment numbers, although the RCC continues to coordinate interviews and contact new recruiters through online modes offering a strong example of perseverance in the face of adversity and providing renewed hope in these trying times. There are atleast 8 recruiters in the process of conducting recruitments which are delayed due to COVID-19."

The RCC comprised student members Adyasha Nanda, Avinash Gautam, Debadutta Swain, Nikhil Ajmera, Nikita Nair, Pragya Pandey and Tamoghna Saha, along with faculty advisors Mayank Tiwari, Arjyalopa Mishra and Kallola Kumar Patanaik.
