Following the day-zero earlier this month, a total of 10 students have been placed from the National Law University, Delhi’s Class of 2015..Out of the four law firms that visited the NLUD campus, Khaitan & Co picked up 4 students and also offered 4 “assessment internships”. Trilegal picked up 2 students, the same as Amarchand Mangaldas. In addition to these, J. Sagar Associates also recruited 1 student..The breakup of the placements are given below:.In addition to the above, three students have been offered Vacation Schemes in London, with two from Linklaters and one from Herbert Smith Freehills..In an e-mailed response to Bar & Bench, the Recruitment Co-ordination Committee at NLUD said that although they were satisfied with the recruitments till now, “this is just the beginning” and that apart from law firms, they were in talks with litigating lawyers as well as in-house legal departments as potential employers..The RCC also added that,.“At this point our main focus is on internships, as most of the firms like to test the quality of students before considering them for recruitment. And therefore we are trying to get maximum of our students to intern at various places and hopefully try and achieve almost 100% placement by the end of the academic year 2014-15.”
