The team of Jaydev CS, Sarangan Rajesh Kumar and Siddharth Bajpai from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore won the 15th edition of Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition..In this interview with Bar & Bench’s Shreya Vajpei, the team talks about their experience at the competition..Shreya Vajpei: Why did you choose this moot?.NLSIU: We found International Law to be a fascinating area of study from our previous exposure to it in the Leiden Sarin Moot. This year we thought we would enjoy doing something related to International Humanitarian Law, especially given how relevant it is today. We were advised that this is the best exposure one could get in this area of law..SV: How did you prepare for the competition?.NLSIU: We began our preparation in July and we hit some roadblocks in our preparation. We were especially in a tough spot when one of us fell ill with dengue. I think what mattered the most was the help and support we received from our classmates..SV: What was the competition like?.NLSIU: The competition was quite overwhelming. We were quite taken aback when we heard the arguments made by the teams from NLU Delhi, Jindal, NUJS and Jaipur National University. We found it extremely hard to rebut their cases..SV: Any special moments from the Moot?.NLSIU: We enjoyed meeting several of our seniors from college when we were in Delhi for the National Rounds. We couldn’t have done it without their support and advise.
