Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Ayush Chaturvedi is a third-year student at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL)

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law? Did you have any other interests before deciding to pursue law school?

Despite being secondary career option for me, law has fascinated me since early childhood. But while deciding my career options in Intermediate, I realized a deterioration of interest in pursuing Engineering.

It was then I started learning about the law as a profession which left a deep impact on me. My eagerness to explore the profession intensified after getting valuable insights from few alumni of NLUs and prestigious law firms.

This was the time when I became absolutely sure that this is the profession where my ikigai lies in.

Why did you choose to become a Bar & Bench Campus Ambassador?

The benchmark created and contribution being made by Bar and Bench is known across the legal fraternity. Like every person aspiring career in law, the platform has been immensely useful and a knowledge hub for me from very early stage.

The outreach of the platform across every spectrum of legal profession is extraordinarily remarkable.

Hence the ambassadorship has been a sought-after association for me. This association provided me to discharge the duties of Student Ambassador with full potential and set standards while gaining substantial knowledge of the law and legal profession.

What are your plans after graduation?

In the last three years of my law school, I have been exploring the spectrum of career options available.

I enjoy considerable interest in Corporate Law and its intersection with Technology Laws. I also hold academic endearment towards Constitutional Law, Public International Law and Competition Law.

After finishing my law , I plan to pursue my interest to join a Law Firm and later after acquiring industry exposure I wish to pursue further studies.
