Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Rachna Kumari, a first-year student at the National University of Study and Research in Law in Ranchi.

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law?

I was very much attracted towards law since class eight. Law as a career is very challenging in itself. I used to do debating, researching on socio-legal issues, public speaking were some of my interest areas. According to me I have the skill set required for becoming a lawyer.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

I always wanted to know the insights of law and legal issues. While I was thinking of doing something like this I came to know about the the Campus Ambassador program by Bar and Bench itself.

As I am a regular reader of Bar and Bench plus my friend suggested me to apply for this program. This was the best choice I could ever have. I couldn't leave this opportunity at any cost so I just applied for the program and got selected.

What are your plans after completing law?

As I am just a first year student so I am exploring the field as of now. Criminal Law, Judiciary and Arbitration are my interest areas so I may pursue any of them.
