Jamia Millia Islamia University finished as semi-finalists, in the 3rd-Gurjeet Singh Singh Memorial Moot Court Competition organised by National Law University Assam (NLUJAA), which was held on 25 - 27 March 2022.

A team comprising of Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Saad and Zeeshan Ahmad represented the university.

A team member, Shabbir Ahmed, was awarded the Best Speaker in the competition.

Speaking to the Apprentice Lawyer, Shabbir exclaimed, “Making it as the Best Speaker has truly been an experience and I am incredibly grateful for it. It has been an honour to present myself before such dignified personalities, and I believe the biggest takeaway has been their invaluable suggestions. I hope, moving forward, I will be able to make a difference.”

Speaking to Apprentice Lawyer, the team said, “Participating in this moot has been one of the best decisions for the three of us. It being our first moot, we were nervous and excited at the same time. From the day of registration till the day of the semi-finals, within a span of 20 days, we engaged ourselves in deep research by diving into different aspects of law with our commitment and cooperation. It has truly been an exciting journey where we have learnt, made mistakes, overcome the odds, built confidence and established good rapport.”

The team also said the victory would not have been possible without the help of their seniors and professors, who guided them immensely for the competition.

This note was shared by Campus Ambassador Vishakha Singh.
