Institute of Law, Nirma University wins Tenth INSOL India NLIU National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition

The Institute of Law, Nirma University emerged as winners of the Tenth INSOL India NLIU National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition 2022 organized by the National Law Institute University, Bhopal.

The competition was held from 11 November, 2022 to 13 November, 2022.

The winning team comprised of Samridhi Shrimali, Vinay Kella and Aditi Rathore.

The tenth INSOL-NLIU Corporate Law Moot Competition deals with contemporary issues related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

The team finished with with a first rank in the prelims, and faced NLUO in the semi-final rounds followed by RMLNLU in the final round.

The final round was judged by Pooja Mahajan (Managing Partner at Chandiok & Mahajan), Dinkar Venkatasubramanian (India Head – Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy, EY India), and Narender Kumar Bhola (Former Member, NCLT).

Discussing the win, the team members said, "the team is greatly indebted to the alumni, who provided it with their valuable support and some of whom have acted as team members themselves. The entire journey of representing the Institute at a national competition has been challenging yet rewarding."

"Being one of the very few 'in-person' events after the pandemic, the competition provided the team with the opportunity to have invaluable interactions with esteemed professionals who have been working in the field of law, particularly corporate law, for a considerable period of time and have been major contributors to the development of insolvency and bankruptcy laws in the country", they added.
