Yamuna Menon, an IDIA scholar from Kerala has secured 30th rank in this year’s Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)..Her rank effectively means that she will secure admission at NLSIU, Bangalore..Prof Shamnad Basheer, Founding Trustee of IDIA, said in an email,.“We couldn’t have had a better start to the onset of CLAT results. Another 8 or so of our scholars are likely to make the various law schools once the second and third lists come out. We will come back with a list soon.”.Yamuna, who belongs to Udayamperoor near Cochin, comes from a family riddled by debt. An extremely bright student, she secured an overall percentage of 95.8% in her Higher Secondary School examinations. Though she was not able to clear CLAT on her first attempt in 2014, she has put up a great performance this year, thanks to training and mentorship by IDIA..Last year, eight IDIA scholars made it to various NLUs. This is only the second time an IDIA scholar has made it to NLSIU Bangalore, the first being Thangminlal Haokip from Mizoram, who secured admission in 2010.
