Over the last three years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students provide us with information on campus events and activities, as well as share legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Shubham Gupta, a fourth-year law student at the Chandigarh University, Mohali.

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law?

I have been fascinated by learning about the Constitution and policy-making since I was in school. Since I had higher grades in Social Studies than in Math and Science, I chose to pursue a career in Law. I've always enjoyed debating and critical thinking, which is the essence of Law as a profession.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

This is the third time I've worked as a Campus Ambassador for Bar & Bench. This platform is the backbone of information sharing in the legal profession, and it represents a significant step forward in this field. With me being the Student Convener of the Moot Court Society at my institution, Bar & Bench helped me a lot in terms of networking and getting a lot of exposure to the legal industry from the bar to the bench.

What are your plans after completing law?

From the school time I dreamed to become a Judge by clearing the Judicial Examination. However, after entering law school and interning at different places, I have decided to invest a few years in litigation, and then hopefully be elevated to the High Court.
