Broadcasting Authority imposes Rs. 1 lakh penalty for “misleading” story on NALSAR students; Rajshekhar Rao appears for the students

In a decision that many news channels would do well to heed, the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA) has imposed a penalty of Rs. 1 lakh on the Telugu channel Sakshi TV. The channel has also been asked to run an apology for three days starting from January 15, 2014 for its misleading story on students of NALSAR University, Hyderabad. Advocate Rajshekhar Rao appeared before the NBSA on behalf of the students.
