At last count, a total of five Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the National Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC). The petitioners include the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA), former ASG Bishwajit Bhattacharya, and advocates RK Kapoor, N Rajaraman and R Krishnamurthy, and of course, advocate Manohar Lal Sharma.
