Three new judges take oath at Gujarat High Court

Justices Sanjeev Jayendra Thaker, Deeptendra Narayan Ray and Maulik Jitendra Shelat on Thursday took oath as new judges of the Gujarat High Court.

Their oaths were administered by Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal.

The trio officially took office as High Court judges after their appointments were cleared by the Central government on October 8 this year. 

On August 13 this year, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended names of the three advocates to be appointed as judges of the Gujarat High Court.

The top court’s recommendation came after the Gujarat High Court Collegium had on December 22 recommended their names.
