Ten Additional Judges of Punjab & Haryana High Court made permanent

The High Court is currently functioning with 45 Judges while its sanctioned strength is 85.

Ten additional judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court have been made permanent judges.

Notification to that effect was published by the Central government on the Law Ministry website.

The Judges who have been made permanent are:

1. Justice Suvir Sehgal

2. Justice Alka Sarin

3. Justice Jasgurpreet Singh Puri

4. Justice Ashok Kumar Verma

5. Justice Sant Parkash

6. Justice Meenakshi I. Mehta

7. Justice Karamjit Singh

8. Justice Vivek Puri

9. Justice Archana Puri

10. Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended the same at a meeting held on October 7.

The Punjab & Haryana High Court is currently operating at 50 percent of its sanctioned strength of 85 Judges, with a working strength of 45.
