Madras High Court gets one more Additional Judge [Read Notification]

With this appointment, the working strength of the Madras High Court has risen to 60 against a sanctioned strength of 75 judges

The Central government has approved the appointment of J Sathya Narayana Prasad as an additional Judge of the Madras High Court.

A notification intimating the appointment of the Judge for a two year period was issued on Wednesday.

"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri J. Sathya Narayana Prasad, to be a Additional Judge of the Madras High Court for a period of two years, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office", stated the notification.

With this appointment, the working strength of the Madras High Court has risen to 60 against a sanctioned strength of 75 judges. Last week four new judges were sworn into office as additional High Court Judges.
