Adrija Ghosh, a graduate of West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) Kolkata, has been awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for 2022.
Ghosh is one of five Indian students and the only one from the field of law to have received the Scholarship for this year.
She graduated from NUJS in 2021 and is currently working with National Law University, Delhi's Project 39-A.
In a press release, Nandan Kamath, who is the National Secretary, Rhodes Scholarships for India, said:
"As always, and despite the challenges that students have encountered over the last year and a half, we had a fantastic field of applicants. We are thankful to our many volunteers who assisted us with our rigorous selection process and very proud of the five Rhodes Scholars-elect who have emerged from the process. These brilliant people will benefit from the rich intellectual resources of the University of Oxford, and can become part of a lifelong community of global impact.”
Last year, Anupriya Dhonchak from National Law University, Delhi and Misbah Reshi, who studied at Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, were awarded the Scholarship.
