Gujarat Legal Services Authority launches year-long gender sensitization campaign

The Gujarat State Legal Service Authority, in collaboration with the State government's Gender Resource Centre has launched a year-long gender sensitization campaign titled "Ehsaas - Nyay Ka Sab Ke Liye" (An Awareness of Justice for All).

The campaign, which is the first of its kind in India, kicked off recently with a seminar at the Gujarat High Court Auditorium.

During the event, Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal spoke on the need for in-depth sensitization training for all stakeholders to create gender-neutral workplace. The Chief Justice also inaugurated the official website for an Internal Complaints Committee.

Another speaker at the event, Dr. Bhavna Mehta, who is the Dean of Social Science at MS University in Vadodara, delivered a presentation on gender stereotypes.

Various other panelists who represented different stakeholders namely judges, lawyers, employees and officers also shared their views.

Other attendees included High Court judges, the Secretary of the State government's Women and Child Development Department, lawyers and over 600 employees of the Gujarat High Court.
