Desai & Diwanji Senior Partner Shishir Diwanji passed away on December 1. He was 84.

Diwanji specialised in the areas of real estate, corporate law and trusts and estates at the firm's Mumbai office.

In a LinkedIn post, the firm stated that Diwanji was one of the founding members of the law firm.

"It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of one of our esteemed founding members, Mr.Shishir Diwanji. His visionary guidance and steadfast commitment have been instrumental in shaping our firm into the thriving entity it is today. Mr. Shishir Diwanji leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will forever remain ingrained in the fabric of our firm. We are deeply appreciative of the enduring impact he has had, and we remain dedicated to upholding the principles and values he so passionately instilled within our organization," the post reads.

Born on October 23, 1939, Diwanji did his LL.B. from Mumbai University. He went on to become a solicitor and practised in the Bombay High Court.

He has represented listed companies, banks, MNCs, family offices and trusts in the Supreme Court and various High Courts and tribunals. He also represented large public trusts with matters of policy and operations.

Throughout his career, Shishir advised some of the largest industrial families and their companies in large and complex transactions across a variety of sectors.
