Tata Sons has appointed Sidharth Sharma as its new General Counsel.

Sharma succeeds Shuva Mandal, who left Tata Sons to set up Anagram Partners. He will report to Chairman N Chandrasekaran.

Sharma is a 2005 graduate of NUJS, Kolkata. A Delhi-based lawyer, he has been representing the Tata companies in various cases, including the Tata-Mistry litigation.

He had initially worked as a legal trainee and corporate legal adviser at Tata for a few years, after which he left to start his litigation practice in Delhi.
