Kaushik Mukherjee has joined IndusLaw as an Equity Partner in Capital Markets practice, at the firm's Mumbai office, along with his team.

Mukherjee’s extensive experience spans over two decades across capital markets, public M&A, structured finance, real estate project financing, and securities advisory, further strengthening IndusLaw’s offerings.

With a proven track record, Mukherjee and his team have regularly advised both issuers and underwriters on a wide spectrum of equity and debt issuances. This includes initial public offerings (IPOs), qualified institutions placements, public issues and private placements of debentures, as well as international issuances of bonds and InvITs. Additionally, the team brings specialized expertise in public mergers and acquisitions, having managed significant listed company takeovers, mergers, and preferential allotments across India. He is also recognized for his regulatory advisory skills, transaction structuring, and compliance management in connection with RBI and NHB inspections and SEBI investigations. Mukherjee is known for advising on landmark transactions, such as the pioneering offerings of InvITs and masala bonds, along with some of India’s largest IPOs and qualified institutions placements.

Mukherjee's background includes key roles with leading Indian and international law firms, including Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, JSA, and White & Case in London. He most recently served as President of Legal at Indiabulls, where he led significant fundraising transactions such as rights issuances, qualified institutions placements, and domestic and international bonds (including FCCBs).

Gaurav Dani and Suneeth Katarki, Founding Partners at IndusLaw, commented,

“We are thrilled to add Kaushik and his team to IndusLaw. His diverse experience in both law firms and strategic in-house roles, combined with his expertise in capital markets and public M&A, will bring immense value to our clients and enable us to grow our Capital Markets practice further.”

Kaushik Mukherjee himself commented,

“I am excited to join INDUSLAW and continue the growth of its Capital Markets practice. I look forward to contributing to the Firm’s legacy of excellence.”

After Manan Lahoty and 50+ Capital Markets lawyers left in July, this is IndusLaw's first major move to bolster its Capital Markets practice.
