The revised score of 4801 candidates who had raised grievances with regard to Common Law Admission Test 2018 (CLAT 2018) has been published.

The results of CLAT 2018 were published on May 31. The First Allotment List was published on June 8.

The revised score published today takes into account the changes made after the application of compensatory formula to candidates who lost time during this year’s CLAT.

This has been done pursuant to an order of the Supreme Court. While the Supreme Court’s order was with respect to 4690 candidates only, certain candidates who had approached High Courts were also considered over and above what the Supreme Court had directed.

Ever since CLAT 2018 was embroiled in litigation, there has been great uncertainty over the results and allotment.

The Supreme Court had clarified that the allotment would be subject to the final outcome of the petitions pending before it. Meanwhile, the Grievance Redressal Committee set up by National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) had submitted its report to the Court. The Committee had recommended that candidates who lost time during the exam due to technical glitches be compensated with marks.

A compensatory formula was also devised to determine award of such marks to candidates who lost time.

When the matter was last heard on June 13, the Supreme Court had accepted the formula and ordered that the formula be applied to all candidates who lost time, as identified by the Grievance Redressal Committee.

It had ordered that the revised rank list be published after taking into account the changes to the rank list after the application of compensatory formula.

While the Supreme Court’s order was with respect to 4690 candidates, candidates who had approached High Courts were also considered over and above what the Supreme Court had directed.
