Sujata Chaudhri IP Attorneys, an IP boutique firm, located in NOIDA is looking for a Business Development Manager and an Investigator to build and head an inhouse investigation team.
Business Development Manager
The candidate should have the following attributes/qualifications:
Law degree from a recognized institute/college. This is, however, not a strict requirement and we are also open to interviewing candidates who have not studied law;
3-5 years experience in business development, preferably at a law firm;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
Work directly with partners in the firm;
Be able to work with busy lawyers and who may not have time to address BD issues often;
Take critical feedback in a positive light.
The role will entail the following:
The business development manager will primarily assist the firm in sustaining their visibility in the legal market, identifying opportunities, and developing greater visibility among clients, both in India and abroad.
The candidate will be expected to do the following:
Assist the partners and the firm as a whole, to develop new client relationships and strengthen the existing client relationships that we have.
This will include managing social media presence, assisting partners in making strategic plans to expand business at the firm, make submissions for awards and recognitions, managing a calendar of conferences/seminars, helping partners and lawyers with conference preparation, assisting with pitches, if any, to potential clients, helping partners with proposals being made to clients, market intelligence, sector tapping, attending conferences, if required, and engage with legal and non-legal associations, database management (client contacts, mailing lists, etc.), assistance in coordination of internal trainings, client conferences, etc., tracking and reporting of business development activities, preparing reports and summaries regarding business development activities.
Investigator
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
5-7 years of solid experience in handling market surveys, IP investigations, criminal raids, searches and seizures related to counterfeit or pirated goods;
Must be well-informed about civil and criminal IP remedies;
Must be able to conduct background checks and grey market investigations, prepare surveillance report and provide IP litigation support services;
Reasonably good command over English so as to be able to prepare reports and must have experience in preparing reports;
Must be able to support litigations that the firm is handling;
Must have a good network of operators/firms pan-India so as to be able to get investigations done around the country;
Must have a solid reputation and credibility with enforcement agencies around the countries, including police;
