Chennai-based boutique firm J&M Legal is looking to hire a lawyer having 4-5 years of PQE to the position of Senior Associate.

The firm does an eclectic mix of commercial and corporate work, across the areas of corporate litigation, transactions, and advisory services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An LL.B. degree from a reputed or well-known law college.

  • 4-5 years of prior experience in an office or firm with experience in corporate and commercial practice, either in litigation or corporate transactions.

  • Strong commercial understanding, with the ability to comprehend the client’s requirements and tailor solutions.

  • In the case of litigation experience – must have worked on a range of commercial matters and appeared before Courts and Tribunals, or assisted Senior Counsel and appeared along with them.

  • In the case of corporate experience – strong understanding of laws applicable to investments, mergers and acquisitions; experience in negotiating transactions and drafting agreements.

  • The firm is open to candidates looking for a mix of work in litigation and transactions/corporate advisory.

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, and ability to build a rapport with clients.

  • Ability to work in a group, lead and motivate.

Remuneration Offered: Commensurate with market standards, as per the candidate’s experience and ability.
