Economic Laws Practice (ELP) is seeking a chartered accountant (CA) / lawyer with 3 to 4 years of work experience for their Direct Tax team in Pune.

PQE: 3 - 4 years

Location: Pune

Qualification: Qualified CA / LL.B.

Job Description

-Direct tax litigation assistance including drafting submissions and
briefing senior counsels.

-Direct tax advisory on complex issues.

-International tax advisory with a specific focus on the handling of cross border tax/withholding tax, domestic tax, and Foreign Exchange Management Act (‘FEMA’) regulatory issues.

-Inbound and outbound structuring.

-Treaty interpretations.

-Structuring of Revenue/ capital flows – for e.g., dividend, royalty, fees for technical services.

-Formulating strategy for mitigating the risk of Permanent Establishment (‘PE’) exposure of foreign corporations.

-Domestic Tax Planning.

Requirements

-Learning agility: Demonstrates willingness to acquire knowledge of the latest trends in the legal industry.

-Client centricity: Gives priority to meeting clients’ expectations, by balancing quality and timeliness.

-Teamwork and collaboration: Display ownership and accountability for team goals by performing assigned tasks as per stated standards - Process orientation: Follows applicable work processes/ procedures to deliver outcomes.

-Personal effectiveness: Plans own work, identifies resources and timelines effectively.

-Drafting and presentation skills: Creates client presentations using a variety of communication delivery methods (e.g., written, electronic, oral, interpersonal).
