2- Day Workshop on "Research Paper Writing and Publication" by Gujarat Maritime University (GMU)

The workshop focuses on the formulation of research questions, hypotheses, and literature review.

Bar & Bench

The Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is an endeavor by the Gujarat Maritime Board, Government of Gujarat to provide a fillip to the maritime sector by bridging the knowledge gap within the industry. GMU has been established to serve the global maritime community by producing educated and well-trained professionals in the maritime domain. It aims to enhance and increase the human capital and capacity of the maritime industry both in India and across the globe. To realize these objectives short-term online course on International Maritime Law has been designed.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell has been established for planning, guiding, and monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities at the colleges. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions. The IQAC channelizes and systematizes the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence. It is a facilitative and participative organ of the institution. The IQAC at GMU is a driving force for ushering in quality by working out intervention strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality.

The main objective workshop is to cover the basics of research methodology and to highlight the steps involved in writing a research paper and securing publication in a reputed journal. The workshop focuses on the formulation of research questions, hypotheses, and literature review. It also aims to make the participants aware of the use of referencing tools, make them aware of the predatory journals, and highlight the importance of research ethics. It also aims to provide participants with solutions to research challenges.
