The Moot Court Society, Law College Dehradun was established in 2016 under the guidance and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna and Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Rawat.

After the immense success and appreciation of the many lecture-series, LCD MCS is organizing one another Event in the presence of an erudite scholar of Constitutional law.

In the words of Dr. Justice T. Kochu Thommen, “Affirmative action is not merely compensatory justice, which it is, but is also distributive justice seeking to ensure that community resources are more equitably and justly shared among all classes of citizens.”

The main focus through this lecture is to understand the affirmative action and its importance in justice system in two great jurisdictions i.e. India and the U.S.

I. Eligibility: All bona-fide students of law, enrolled in 3-year, 5-year or LL.M. programs registered in India are eligible to participate in the same. Law professionals, practitioners & academicians are also invited.

GUEST SPEAKER

Dr. Abhinav Chandrachud

Dr. Chandrachud completed his Bachelor's Degree in law from GLC, Mumbai in the year 2008 and his Masters in law from Harvard Law School in the year 2009. He then worked for a couple of years as an Associate Attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Later on, he went to complete his J.S.M (Master of Science of Law) from Stanford Law School in the year 2012, followed by his doctorate (J.S.D.) in 2014 from the same law school.
