The University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law excels in the 2022 US News & World Report rankings, taking the 4th spot for best intellectual property programs in the US. This is the highest IP ranking the school has earned in over a decade.

“We had an incredibly successful year at the law school, despite the challenges we all faced,” says Dean Megan Carpenter. “This ranking is another testament to our continuing commitment to and vision for providing the highest-level education to law students. I am so proud of our IP focus at the law school.”

UNH Franklin Pierce has ranked in the top 10 for intellectual property since the US News & World Report specialty rankings began 30 years ago. The school has some of the most robust resources in intellectual property. Over half the faculty have expertise in the area, and the school boasts the only academic IP library in the Western Hemisphere.

UNH Franklin Pierce graduates go on to lead policy and practice at Fortune 500 companies, global law firms, and governments including Bayer, Disney, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, PepsiCo., Samsung, the US Patent and Trademark Office, and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The school’s curriculum is designed to develop the employable 21st century lawyer. From technology-focused research to immersion experiences like their Silicon Valley Course, Franklin Pierce ensures students have a front-row seat to developing issues in law.

Outside the classroom, students have opportunities to grow their skills and develop their professional identities through the Academic Success Program, networking events hosted by the Career Services department, and educational events hosted by the school’s Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property.

The law school is currently accepting applications for its LLM, master’s, and certificate programs. For more details on the degrees offered and how to apply, please visit the law school website.
