Twentieth T S Venkateswara Iyer Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy All India Moot Court

The National Moot Competition aims to encourage law students to discover and improve their knowledge of Constitutional law advocacy.

His Highness The Maharajas Government Law College, Ernakulam is an institution for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate legal education in Kochi, Kerala, India. Founded in 1874, it is the first law college in the state of Kerala and also one of the oldest law colleges in India. It is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam.

The college is a recognized Research Centre in Law under the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam since 2010. The college’s alumni include the former Chief Justice of India, Justice KG Balakrishnan, Justice K. M. Joseph, Judge, Supreme Court of India and N. R. Madhava Menon, Indian civil servant, Lawyer and Legal educator and substantial number of Judges of the High Court of Kerala, both past and present besides former Chief Ministers, Union and State Ministers.

Moot Club His Highness The Maharajas Government Law College is extremely proud to host our Twentieth T. S. Venkateswara Iyer Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy All India Moot Court by accommodating teams from different corners of the country on 5th November to 7th November 2021. The National Moot Competition aims to encourage law students to discover and improve their knowledge of Constitutional law advocacy.

Eligibility

The competition will be open to the law colleges, law schools and law departments recognized by the Bar Council of India. The eligibility to participate in this event is limited to undergraduate students in law, both in the 3-year and 5-year programs presently undergoing regular courses. A college can register the participation of only one team.

Team Composition

Every team shall comprise three team members of which two shall be speakers and one the researcher.

Registration

Teams shall apply through their Team Coordinator by sending a provisional registration email to glcenationalmoot@gmail.com containing the following details :

  1. Name of the Participants (Specify the name of the team coordinator)

  2. Contact number and Email of the team members

  3. Class details and Year of Study

  4. Faculty Letter/ Identification Card issued by the College/University confirming the participation of the team.

The provisional registrations are open from 15th September, 2021 to 15th October, 2021 (23:59 IST). No registrations after the said date will be accepted. The qualification to the preliminary rounds of the competition will be based on the evaluation of memorials. In the event of getting selected, the same will be informed on 28th October, 2021

Registration Fee

Each team shall remit a sum of Three Thousand Rupees (Rs.3000/-) towards registration, once their memorial has been selected.
