The 2018 batch of National Law Institute University (NLIU) Bhopal has placed 67 out of a total of 84 graduating students. 5 students opted to take up higher studies at universities in India and abroad.

The others opted to sit for judiciary and civil services exams, with 8 students having cleared the prelims of the Madhya Pradesh Judiciary exam this year in their first attempt.

Law Firm Placements

A total of 41 students were placed in law firms across the country. The biggest recruiters were Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, and Khaitan & Co, with 6 hires each. Singh & Associates made 4 hires, while Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan made 3.

As per the statement released by the NLIU Placement Coordination Committee (PCC), the average annual package offered by top domestic law firms ranged mostly from Rs. 15-18 lakh per annum.

Organisations

A total of 20 students bagged in-house roles and jobs at various other organisations. Thomson Reuters was the biggest hirer, with 4 of these. The PCC stated that students joining companies in the role of in-house counsel received packages mostly ranging from INR 10-14 lakh per annum.

Litigation

Six students opted to take up litigation. They were offered to join the chambers of Advocates Anshuman Singh, Jai Sahai Endlaw, Arvind Baheti, and an Additional Solicitor General. Two students opted to set up their independent litigation practice.

Higher Studies

One students were admitted of Oxford University, London. Two students opted to do an LL.M. at NLIU, one got admitted to NALSAR University, and another got admission at Jagran Lakecity University.

The PCC for the year 2017-18 comprised Dr Raka Arya (Faculty Coordinator), Milind Mohul Ghosh, Sachin Arora, Vaibhavi Tadwalkar (Coordinators), Shivesh Tripathi (V year member), Aishwarya Srivastava, Christina Shaju, Mrinal Mishra, Udyan Arya, Varnika Taya (IV year members), Aryan Gupta, Bhavik Shukla, Kashish Mahajan, Mincy Mathew, Prabal De, Sahil Mathew Mishra, Shounak Banerjee, Utsav Mitra (III year members).
