NLU Delhi signs MoU with Justice Indu Malhotra to establish Chair on Investment Treaty Arbitration

The MoU underlines the growing importance of arbitration and aims to build cutting-edge expertise in the rapidly evolving field.

National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with former Supreme Court judge Justice Indu Malhotra, Supreme Court to establish a Chair on Investment Treaty Arbitration (ITA).

ITA governs arbitration between foreign investors and host states under the public international law regime of international investment law. With India's increased involvement in bilateral investment treaties (BITs) and other multilateral agreements, an Indian Chair would provide expertise in ITA which is essential to safeguard national interests on a global arena.
