Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and NLSIU invite applications for the FinTech Moot Court Competition

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co and National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, are inviting applications from law colleges across India to register for the 1st edition of ‘FinTech Moot Court Competition, 2024-2025’ in Bengaluru.

This competition, scheduled on 14th-15th September 2024 at National Law School of India University, Bengaluru campus, is set to be centered around the intersection of finance, technology and the regulatory challenges raised by rapid technological developments that fundamentally alter how one delivers and consumes financial services. It aims to address some of the key emerging issues in fintech regulation.

Commenting on this, Shilpa Mankar Ahluwalia, Partner at SAM said, 

"We are very excited to be collaborating with NLS for the NLS-SAM-FinTech Moot. Fintech is a rapidly evolving space, with technology and innovation often preceding regulation. This moot court competition will create a platform for our future legal minds to engage with some of the most challenging regulatory questions facing the fintech ecosystem today.”

Dr. Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Vice Chancellor of NLSIU said, 

"NLSIU has developed research and teaching expertise in financial regulation with an emphasis on fintech regulation over the last 3 years. We’re delighted to collaborate with SAM to host the NLS-SAM-FinTech Moot Court Competition. This event gives us the opportunity to broaden engagement with students across India through a Moot Court Competition and a One Day FinTech Regulation Conference. The Conference will help students, and other academics and professionals, engage with some of the best minds in the field, gain exposure to emerging challenges in the intersection of finance and technology, and to develop innovative legal strategies to respond to this fast developing field. This partnership with SAM allows NLSIU to deepen our commitment to be pioneers of legal and regulatory design in key emerging areas at the core of India's future development strategies.”

It will be an open competition to provide equal opportunity to all the law students across the country.
