Bar & Bench

Since late last year, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Kartik Goel, a fifth-year student at Galgotias University.

(Edited excerpts)

Why did you choose to study law? Did you have any other interests before deciding to pursue law?

From the day I started thinking about my future and career, I always planned to study law and to work in corporate field, as I find tax laws and corporate law quite interesting.

Why did you choose to be a Bar and Bench Campus Ambassador?

My previous internships in law firm and other legal organizations taught me that to be a good lawyer, you have to be a good researcher, and for this you have to be updated about the latest developments in any law.

Bar and Bench is one of the most advanced platforms for this, and to be associated with it is what makes oneself privileged and grateful.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation my plan is to get associated with a firm dealing in arbitration matters as I find it quite interesting and also I have observed many arbitration cases during my previous internship.

Also, as I am appearing for Company Secretaries (CS) exams, after graduation, if the above plan does not goes in my favor, I may prepare for my CS exams.
