In today's society, legal issues are becoming more complex and pervasive. Despite the importance of legal knowledge, many people find it challenging to access the information they need to make informed decisions.

Fortunately, a law student has developed an app called Law Bot Pro that aims to address this issue.

“I wanted to develop an app which would benefit everyone by giving them 24/7 access in an easy to use and understandable manner to answer their legal queries,” says Mandaar Mukesh Giri.

Giri, a final year law student from VIPS, GGSIPU, is the mind behind the revolutionary app called Law Bot Pro. Giri taught himself how to code and developed the initial version of the app. He later collaborated with his brother-in-law Utsav Beri, a senior software engineer in the USA, to develop the different layers that form the basis of the app's operation. Mohini Giri, Giri's sister, who is a lawyer in India and holds a Masters in Law in Criminal Law from the NY, USA, helped to calibrate the legal prompts to make the app accessible to people with varying levels of legal knowledge.

Law Bot Pro is a revolutionary app that offers a comprehensive and user-friendly platform for obtaining legal information. One of the key features of Law Bot Pro is its intelligent chatbot. The chatbot is programmed to answer questions in plain language, making legal information more accessible to the public. Users can simply type in their legal question, and the chatbot will provide a clear and concise answer.

In addition to the chatbot, Law Bot Pro also utilizes web search technology, which is currently available only in the paid version of ChatGPT, to provide higher accuracy for direct questions. Proprietary formatting provides a fuller answer to the user, solving their query in a matter of seconds while providing all the necessary and important information.

“I know a lot of my colleagues are using ChatGPT for legal research, and it’s not perfect but I did not want to make a bot solely for legal research. I wanted to focus first on spreading legal knowledge and informative aid to citizens who do not know much about law and cannot decipher the complex legal language. Legal access to all is my primary goal and that’s why Law Bot Pro V1 focuses solely on citizens,” Giri said.

“It is not made for legal professionals, yet,” says Giri, whose main aim was to launch the first version specifically for narrative queries. The app in the future will offer a variety of resources, including case laws, statutes, regulations, and legal articles, among others for professionals as well.

The implications of Law Bot Pro are significant. It has the potential to democratize legal knowledge and empower individuals to make informed decisions. It also has the potential to reduce the burden on lawyers and legal professionals, who may have to spend a significant amount of time providing basic legal information to clients.

However, the app is not without its limitations. For example, the chatbot may not be able to provide nuanced legal advice in complex cases, and users will still need to consult with a lawyer for legal matters. Giri says,

“I want to reaffirm that AI technology is not a replacement for lawyers or people in the legal profession. Sure, there are some things it can do better and faster, however these tools will only be complementary to lawyers. Any app like Law Bot Pro is not and cannot be a legal advisor, thus the goal for Law Bot Pro has been to help citizens in situations and form the base of information, making them smarter and educated about their rights and laws of the country, before they approach a lawyer.”

To achieve the highest accuracy, all data is continuously being monitored in a non-personalized manner by Giri and Company, a law firm based in New Delhi, India, so that the AI learns from the corrected answers and gives specific answers for the queries.

In conclusion, Law Bot Pro is an exciting development that has the potential to change the legal landscape in significant ways. By making legal information more accessible and understandable, it can empower individuals to make informed decisions and reduce the burden on legal professionals. As such, it is a tool that deserves attention and support from all stakeholders in the legal industry.
