Bar & Bench

Over the last two years, we have built a network of Campus Ambassadors across more than fifty law schools all over India. These law students have been providing us with information on campus events and activities, and also sharing legal articles.

This series of interviews is meant to turn the spotlight on these hardworking and dedicated individuals.

In this edition, we speak with Anshika Agarwal, a third-year student at the National Law University Odisha.

Why did you choose to study law?

Ever since I was exposed to the public discourse on issues of importance to the society and its people, I got drawn to the idea of working for helping bring about a change in the lives of those in need. I am a highly opiniated person and like to deliberate on my opinions with others which is why I engaged in debating in my school as well.

Further exposure to the world of political science and legal studies made it clear to me that law is the appropriate field for me to pursue. The sheer variety of subject areas that can be researched about and learnt while studying law, is an added bonus.

What made you apply for the Campus Ambassador post at Bar & Bench?

Bar & Bench has been at the forefront of legal and academic excellence and is an essential part of any law student or legal professional's life. I have been following Bar & Bench for over 5 years now and it has helped me immensely in forming better informed opinions.

Its importance in my law school life has also been unparalleled given the thoughtful and intuitive design and content of the platform. When I came across the opportunity to become a part of the Bar & Bench team, I rushed to grab the opportunity. It was a no-brainer.

What are your plans after completing law?

After completing my law degree, I plan to pursue LLM abroad and hone my legal skills and decide and develop on a specialized legal field. Post that, I plan to return to India and pursue litigation in the beginning to get a first hand experience of our judicial system and be a part of the booming Indian legal fraternity.
