The Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur is slated to host the launch of the Chhattisgarh Legal Education and Research Network (CG-LEARN) on November 26, 2024, as part of the Constitution@75 series - the university's celebration of the 75th year since the adoption of the Constitution of India.
The launch event will take place from 4 PM to 6.30 PM at the HNLU campus in Nava Raipur.
CG-LEARN is envisioned to be a pioneering consortium designed to connect legal institutions across Chhattisgarh, to herald a new chapter for legal education in the State.
The initiative seeks to build a united framework among law schools and legal departments in public and private universities. The platform will establish interdisciplinary connections with institutions in technology, science, arts, and management.
Speaking about the initiative, Vice Chancellor of HNLU, Prof. (Dr) VC Vivekanandan said:
"HNLU's initiative of CG-LEARN is a modest beginning which we hope soon will be emulated by NLUs across the country. Non-NLU legal institutions equally have their contributory achievements to be exchanged. We look forward to the Chhattisgarh State Govt and Law Ministry to support this initiative to make the State excel in Legal Education."
Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and State Minister for Law and Legislative Affairs, Arun Sao will officially inaugurate CG-LEARN.
Prof (Dr) NL Mitra, and Prof (Dr) Ranbir Singh of HNLU will be chairing thematic sessions along with the HNLU Vice-Chancellor at the event.
Over 100 faculty members, Deans, Directors, Principals and Heads of Departments Heads of Departments specializing in law and social sciences across Chhattisgarh are also slated to attend the event.
