Intellectual property (IP) is a category of property that includes intangible creations of the human intellect. There are many types of intellectual property, and some countries recognize more than others. The most well-known types are copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. With the increasing focus on innovation and research everyone needs to learn about intellectual property rights (IPRs) to safeguard the creations and innovations of self and others. The main purpose of intellectual property law is to encourage the creation of a wide variety of intellectual goods.

School of Law, Sharda University is organizing a workshop on IPR for the purpose of training and development of its faculty and staff in collaboration with the Cell for IPR Promotion & Management (CIPAM).

CIPAM is a professional body under the aegis of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

Objective of the Workshop

To provide a framework to foster innovation and creativity

To create awareness about Intellectual Property (IP)

To appraise its stakeholders- Faculty members & the students about its technology transfer and commercialization

To enhance the skill and capability of stakeholders to use innovative technology transfer

To develop an understanding about IP management tools and best practices for technology commercialization

To educate participants about legal implication of IPR related aspects.

To protect intellectual property (IP) rights generated by faculty/ personnel, students
