#RecTracker: 64 students of JGLS 2017 batch placed, CAM hires 11

As many as 64 students of the 2017 batch of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) have been placed at various law firms and organisations.

A  total of 326 students of the 2017 batch will graduate from 3 programs – B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.B. (3 year) and LL.M. A total of 146 students chose to sit for placements, with 104 students securing employment in law firms, corporate houses, litigation chambers and LPOs.

Four of the Big 7 law firms – Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co and Trilegal – all hired from the 2017 batch, with CAM taking on board 11 students. A total of 48 students were placed in law firms.

A host of other law firms including S&R Associates, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Economics Laws Practice, Wadia Ghandy and Nishith Desai Associates were among the recruiters. 15 students were hired to work in-house at companies like HCL, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Jindal Steel & Power. One student landed a job at Alternative Law Forum in Bangalore.

Two students also landed international placements – one at Herbert Smith Freehills and the other at the World Trade Organisation. 32 students opted for litigation, and one student got a judicial clerkship with the Supreme Court’s Justice Rohinton F Nariman. 5 students chose to work in policy research and fellowship programmes.
