ALMT relaunches Delhi and London offices with two lateral hires

ALMT Legal has recently hired two partners for its Delhi and London offices respectively. Garima Basu will head the London office while Seema Kothari will head the Delhi office. This move of ALMT comes few months after five partners of ALMT had left to start Clasis Law which also ended the best-friend relationship of ALMT and Clyde & Co..ALMT Legal has recently hired two partners for its Delhi and London offices respectively. Garima specialises in M&A and private equity and has previously worked with AZB & Partners as a Senior Associate after which she moved to London and started her independent practice..Garima on joining ALMT as Partner said, “I was running my own independent practice which was doing very well. I amnow looking forward to leading ALMT in London”..Seema joins Delhi office as a Partner and was previously working as an inhouse legal counsel to a large industrial house and has handled arbitrations and dispute resolutions at all levels..ALMT has opened its London office on Cannon street which is right in the heart of city and close to English law firms and most of the multinational corporate houses..Speaking to Bar & Bench, Senior Partner Sameer Tapia (pictured) said, “We have evolved as a firm and we continue to grow and our commitment with London and the London office stays. ALMT was the first Indian firm to have set up office in the UK. We continue to keep that commitment with Garima coming in as Partner in our London office and Seema Kothari in New Delhi. We will continue to do Indian law and practice only Indian law. We have niche boutique Indian practice both in UK and India and continue to be in India the way we are”..Tapia added, “I will spend a fair amount of my time in London and my other Partner Hitesh Jain will too spend a fair amount of his time in Delhi cultivating work in Delhi”..ALMT now has four offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and London. Tapia said, “ALMT will now be looking at opening more offices every two years or may be even earlier, in other parts of the world. It is a great time for us and we really look forward to growing ALMT as we have done in the past”..In Delhi, ALMT Legal’s office has been relocated to Saket in South Delhi. The Delhi team of ALMT is further strengthened by the firm’s existing team of about 5-8 senior and other associates in both fields of dispute resolution and corporate M&A.
