A pilot, who served Air India for 28 years, has moved the Principal Bench of NCLT for initiating insolvency against the national carrier..The application has been filed by Captain Subodh Kumar for non-payment of salary and allowances. .Kumar had been with Air India since 1988, and claims that there were discrepancies in the payment of his salaries beginning July 2012 to January 2016. .Kumar has also furnished a reply he received from Air India in response to his application under the RTI Act, 2005. The response submitted by Air India revealed that the total dues, including salary and allowances, amounted to Rs. 67,84,333. .Upon serving a demand notice, Air India remitted a sum of Rs. 29,39,500 to Kumar’s account, without any communication or dispute. .Two days after it paid the partial amount, Kumar received a letter from Air India’s counsel, which said that Air India would reply to the notice after perusal of documents.
