AIBE Update Results Declared Pass percentage 69 lower than first AIBE

The Bar Council of India has today announced the results of the second AIBE which was held on July 24, 2011 after being postponed once. Around 13000 students had enrolled for the second AIBE which was conducted successfully in 31 venues in 26 cities across India barring an incident in Chennai. Results will also be available at each State Bar Council across the country..Speaking about the results, Ashok Parija, Chairman of BCI in the press release said, “The pass percentage for the second AIBE is around 69 percent, which is slightly lower than the pass percentage for the first AIBE. The pass percentage amongst male and female candidates is nearly the same again though the pass percentage of repeat candidates (who did not clear the first AIBE) is lower than that of fresh candidates”..According to the press release, the female candidates pass percentage is 70.23 which is slightly higher than that of male candidates at 68.06 percent. The pass percentage of the repeat candidates is 56.42, who did not perform well..Jammu and Kashmir has secured the highest pass percentage of 92.94 followed by West Bengal with 91.25 and Bihar with 90 percent. The worst performance is from State of Andhra Pradesh with pass percentage of only 36.02..The pass percentage is highest at 87.5 percent among the students who took the exam in Bengali language, followed by those who appeared for the exam in English language at 80.20 percent, which was taken by half of the candidates. Almost 30 percent of the candidates who appeared for the exam scored in the range of 40 and 50 marks out of 100..According to the press release, the dates of the AIBE for this academic year will be put out in advance shortly. The BCI is also putting together a plan for conducting the AIBE in Chennai and the details of the same would be made available shortly..In the first AIBE, the pass percentage across the board was a tremendous 71.3 percent. Female candidates pass percentage of 72.1 was slight higher than that of male candidates at 71 percent. Bihar had secured the highest pass percentage of 98.11 percent. The second state which came close to Bihar was the State of Sikkim, with 92 percent.
